About Sarah Taber

Early Life

Sarah Taber is a 24-year-old native Memphian who grew up outside of Tennessee on the state line in Olive Branch, Mississippi. There, she graduated in the top 60 of her class from Center Hill High School. Throughout her time in high school, she challenged herself academically by taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses while also staying actively involved in extracurricular activities. She was a proud member of the National Honor Society and participated in the school’s auditioned competition choir all four years, serving as concert choir president during her senior year. These experiences helped her develop strong leadership, communication, and time management skills while balancing academics and extracurricular activities.

Higher Education

After graduating from Center Hill High School, Sarah continued her education at the University of Mississippi, where she pursued a bachelor’s of arts in journalism and multimedia studies. Studying at the University of Mississippi’s School of Journalism and New Media helped equip her with the tools needed to work in today’s evolving media landscape. During her studies, Sarah took courses such as media literacy, photojournalism and editing, which helped give her a strong foundation in multimedia storytelling, ethical reporting and digital communication. These classes emphasized accuracy, critical thinking, and visual storytelling, and challenged her to meet tight deadlines while adapting to today’s technology. All of which helped prepare her to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment and gave her the skills to create compelling, accurate content across multiple platforms.

Working in Memphis
