Sarah Taber

Over two years at WREG-TV, Sarah primarily produced the station’s noon and 3 p.m. newscasts, but she also regularly filled in to help produce morning and evening broadcasts as well. Furthermore, she played an integral role in launching WREG’s 3 p.m. newscast and helping establish the show’s brand. As part of that effort, she helped create the show’s weekly Memphis Music Mix segment, which airs every Friday and features local musicians who represent the unique sound and culture of the city. During her time working on the 3 p.m. newscast at WREG, she also had the opportunity to produce special programming, including a Christmas special along with feature-driven episodes highlighting WREG’s team and the local community. Memphis Music Mix is a weekly segment on WREG’s ‘3 at 3 p.m.’ with Alex Coleman, that Sarah helped create. The weekly segment showcases the heart and sound of the city by featuring local talent every Friday who embody what Memphis music represents. During her time producing WREG’s Memphis Music Mix, she not only helped establish the segment’s branding, but also actively booked guests and coordinated with production and creative teams to bring each individual segment to life. Artists featured in some of her work include grammy award winning saxophonist Kirk Whalum, the international Queen of Blues Toni Green, and Anita Ward, singer of the 1979 hit ‘Ring My Bell.’
